Terms and Conditions – Stirring Stuff
By booking a course you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions.
(We reserve the right to make minor changes to the content of the course and prices without notice).
1. Adult Courses
You must be over 18 years of age to attend an adult course. Exceptionally we may agree to 16-18 year olds attending adult courses
2. Young People’s courses
You must be over 10 years old and be in the age range indicated and have parental/guardian consent (using our written booking form) to attend.
3. Health and safety Liability
Sensible clothing should be worn – we will not be liable for damage to your clothing. Please wear shoes with flat; non-slip soles not open toed shoes, which do not cover your toes. We cannot let you join a course if you have inappropriate footwear. Long hair needs to be tied back. You will be given a briefing on health and safety in the kitchen prior to the course commencing.
Our courses are hands on and involve heat and normal kitchen equipment. All participants are expected to listen carefully and obey instructions given. Inevitably there is a risk of accidents occurring. We expect you to take all reasonable care in the kitchen to avoid this happening. You agree that we shall be under no liability whatsoever, for loss, injury or damage to you or your property whether in respect of any neglect, act of omission by us or otherwise.
4. Standard of Behaviour
We expect you to behave sensibly and appropriately at all times. If for any reason we are unhappy about your behaviour you may be required to leave the premises immediately.
5. Special Dietary Requirements/ Allergies
We cannot adjust courses for special dietary requirements unless previously agreed. We will of course, be happy to discuss course content with you to help you understand what is involved. If you have allergies please let us know in advance.
There may be traces of nuts or other ingredients and if you have an allergy you attend at your own risk.
We run vegetarian courses as well as courses on special diets from time to time, please let us know if you are interested.
6. Things to let us know about in advance
If you are disabled (the premises have been adapted for wheelchair access), are diabetic, have epilepsy, are pregnant or have any other issue or illness you think you should tell us about please let us know in advance.
7. We Provide
Utensils, knives, equipment and aprons are provided for all courses. Ingredients are provided unless indicated. For some courses we will ask you to shop for ingredients, as this is part of the course experience. If you do not attend with the ingredients required you might not be able to participate fully or at all. Please look carefully at the course instructions.
8. Payment
Payment must be made in full at the time you make the booking. Taking payments on the day is unfair to others, as it takes up valuable time in a busy day. We do not take provisional bookings, you can only have a confirmed booking once payment is made in full. Cheques should be made payable to Stirring Stuff and posted to the address below. We accept MasterCard/Visa/Switch/Solo/Maestro cards.
9. Cancellations
We recommend you take out insurance to cover cancellations beyond your control for reasons such as illness. We will refund fees provided you give us three weeks notice. If you cancel within 21 days al a course starting no compensation is payable. In the unlikely event we have to cancel a course (for example as a result of illness) we will endeavour to provide a suitable alternative within a reasonable period of time. Should this not be possible you will be entitled to a full refund of fees.
